Thank you for sharing! My husband and I just booked our trip there for his 40th birthday with friends and family this fall and we are so excited! I was curious on what you thought was the best and most special birthday dinner you experienced and which restaurant you would recommend for a birthday dinner and also for a big group? I’m a little nervous that we won’t be able to get reservations for a big group birthday dinner since you can’t make reservations until you arrive.
The nicest restaurant that is not included in the all-inclusive price is Maria Dolores, and I believe you can get reservations in advance there. I didn't dine there bc we didn't want to pay extra. My two favorite for a special occasion were the Italian restaurant Cilento or the steakhouse Abrazos. I would just mention that you need that reservation when you are doing your check-in process. Also - it helps to have 2 or 3 people make a reservation for smaller tables in your group, then when you get there ask them to move the table together.
We will only be there for a long weekend (3 nights). Do you have any “must dos”? Do you know if they ever offer free upgrades for special occasions?

I have a podcast episode all about this resort that I think you would find really helpful! https://www.triptalespodcast.com/episodes/episode-40-atelier-all-inclusive-playa-mujeres-mexico-kelseys-40th-birthday-trip-recap-with-her-besties-hilarious-stories-shenanigans-amp-must-know-resort-tips
